there you go, a straight forward title.well cricket has been my favourite game for years. still, i'm dare not saying i'm a very good player. i'm just an average player i guess. hmm, let's look at my early history on this game called cricket.
it was on 1995 when i first entered SEMESTA. as a fresh junior, we all were attached with "abang angkat" which their primary duty was to look after us. some did well, but mostly served it as a school order. nevertheless, my abang angkat happened to be a cricker player for the school. at that time, my school dominated the east coast region by having lots of good players. musfazli, najib, sani, ace, afat, wan aizad, azwan to name a few. there were all very good and skillful players. so, i started to go to the field every evening just to watch them play. then i started to join their training along with my other friends.
1996 was my first try for MSSM. me and my friends were selected to represent Pahang and the tournament was held in KL. it was a great experience for me, as we were able to play against players from other states. the difference in skills and power was definitely huge. we were beaten easily by Kedah and then KL. but being our first experience, we took the loss in gaiety. then started in 1997, i got my first medal for MSSP. at that time our school was still a big force in the state. for 3 years in a row we're the champion of Pahang. but i missed some experience playing in Piala Perdana Menteri (PPM), which later called as HKSBP. i had to enter different compettition. but i never regret it, thanks teacher :). only in my final year, 1999 i had the opportunity to play in the HKSBP tournament but we came out as runner's up. we lost in the final to SMS Dungun. and that was my final game for high school years.
well u can see that i have a quite memorable experiences with this game. it's not that i'm a great cricket player, but it's just something that i grew fond to. actually i'm always a lousy player, even till now. my bowling is still not consistent and my batting is just average. maybe i'm a defensive type and the score was always low. but thank god, i've never imagine that i'll have the opportunity to play again in university. next month will be the second time i play for MASUM. still, lately i'm quite disturbed when someone told me not to play anymore. it's sad really, because it's the only thing that i'm actually good at. mind you, not everyone has the opportunity to play this game rite? it is also sad if that person doesn't really realize how improtant this thing to me and how i love the game so much.aii..there, there i begin to moan now.hehee. well, i think i just pray that i can participate in my last tournament. i don't know if i ever get the chance to play again after leaving the university. whatever it is, cricket is a great game ;) hehe...
